YAMAN EPISODE TWO: Business and Governance.

In Nigeria, it is a general claim that after acquiring a higher education degree, the next line of action is to look for a lucrative job. It is also a general belief that the government should be responsible for job creation.

Recognizing the rarity in the potential of the young and prolific YAMAN, SCOA Motors and SCOAGRI, one of the foremost multinational conglomerates in Nigeria and quoted on the Nigerian stock exchange since 1969, couldn’t afford to lose such an innovative and creative young man to their competitors not in a competitive world of business.

Between 1980-1988, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi held several positions at the conglomerate before the establishment of his own company- AGROMATRIX Nigeria limited 1988.

To mention but a few of the multitudinous positions Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi held in SCOA motor and SCOAGRI, the subsidiaries of SCOA GROUP, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi was a Trainee Manager, SCOA Motors, Lagos Branch (Sept. 1980), Assistant Branch Manager, SCOA Motors, Sokoto Branch (Jan 1981), Branch Manager, SCOA Motors, Maiduguri from 1981-1984, Branch Manager (Senior Manager Position), SCOA Motors, Kaduna from 1984-1986, Branch Manager, SCOA Motors, Kano, (biggest branch) Jan 1987, Commercial Manager (North) from 1987-1988, Ag. Deputy General Manager (North) from 1987-1988.

As a determined, vibrant young man, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi continued to strive assiduously to plot his way up in such a competitive business world and ended up establishing one of the foremost Agricultural firms in Nigeria in the year 1988: Agromatrix Nigeria Limited, Kaduna. As the proprietor and managing director of Agromatrix, the company under his strategic leadership has made tremendous strides in the Nigerian agribusiness industry.

The company has grown and expanded over the years to become one of the major key players in the Nigerian agricultural sector to date.

The news of his pathological hatred for corruption, avarice and selflessness soon reached the federal government of Nigeria and this propelled president Muhammadu Buhari to swear him in as a commissioner of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission( RMAFC). The commission was established to handle revenue allocation and fiscal matters continuously and is also responsible for fixing the remuneration of political office holders as well as monitoring the revenues accruing to the federation account from revenue-generating agencies.

The appointment of Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi to such a strategic position was based on his integrity and proven track record.

With all the aforementioned of his great achievements and impacts, there is no doubt that if the affairs of Kwara state are entrusted to him, again, as a son of the soil, the sky will be the starting point of the state’s greatness.

There is no doubt about his capability because he has proven himself as a Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
