Work Commences on Sodo Bridge in Lafiagi

• Lafiagi Community Radio Station to be on air soon – Sen Sadiq

The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar over the weekend visited Lafiagi Emirate in Edu LGA where he inspected some of the ongoing and completed projects he facilitated.

In a statement by the lawmaker media team, said the lawmaker who was in Lafiagi for the All Progressives Congress stakeholders engagement and empowerment, also used the opportunity to visit some projects sites.

Upon getting to Lafiagi, Senator Sadiq inspected the ongoing reconstruction of the Sodo Bridge which was recently facilitated by him. The bridge which was cut off many years ago and neglected under the previous administration has seen the light of day, this has further depicted the resourcefulness of his representation.

You will recall that the bridge led to the death of innocent souls as a result of a face-off between the youths of Lafiagi and the security team of Senator Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi who was then the Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District at the red chamber.

Also, the lawmaker has facilitated the construction of a Community FM Radio Station in Lafiagi. The groundbreaking ceremony was witnessed by the Emir of Lafiagi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu Kawu.

Upon its completion, it will become the first radio station in the whole of the Nupe land in Kwara State. The Nupe people would have the opportunity to listen to their indigenous news within the state. Before now, the frequency in the Nupe axis is Bida Fm, from the neighboring Niger State

However, the lawmaker appealed to the community members to safeguard the ongoing and completed projects’ jealousy so that they will serve the purpose for which they were executed.

He also reassured his constituents that he will continue to serve and protect the interest of Kwara North to ensure the growth and development the region is now enjoying are sustained.
