Sen. Sadiq Establish ICT Centers in Kaiama and Baruten LGAs
The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District in the ninth Senate, Distinguished Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar has again reaffirmed his resolve to invest in the education sector, asserting that education remains the bedrock of development for people of Kwara North.
According to a statement signed by the lawmaker media team, Senator Sadiq stated that computer-based education would expand the knowledge base of the people and make them more relevant in this 21st century as he facilitated ICT centers in Kaiama and Baruten local government areas.
Sadiq disclosed that the center, which are sited at Government Unity Secondary School Kaiama, Kaiama LGA and Government Secondary School Yashikira in Baruten LGA, would avail students the desired computer literacy and more centers would be established this year in the other local government areas.

The lawmaker explained, “The ICT Centres will help our people when they are preparing for JAMB, Post-UTMEs, and other computer-based examinations; they won’t have to travel long distances to acquire basic skills to operate computers.
Also speaking, the Acting Principal of Government Unity Secondary School, Kaiama, Mr. Abdullahi Na’Mallam Muhammed, expressed gratitude to Senator Sadiq for his initiative in bringing the ICT Center to the school, and stated that students would begin to practice and improve their computer literacy skills.
“I am very happy, just like the staff and students as well as Kaiama are happy over this laudable project. This center is coming at a time when the comprehensive renovation of the school was done by His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. I am appealing to other well-meaning leaders of Kaiama to borrow a leaf from Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, to contribute their own quota to the development of Kaiama”, said the elated Principal.
The newly established centers have Modern Computer sets, wifi, inverter, generators among others.
