PROPER MAINTENANCE AND RECONSTRUCTION OF DAMS WILL SOLVE PROBLEM OF EPILEPTIC POWER SUPPLY – HYPPADEC BOSS 
The Managing Director Hydro Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission HYPPADEC, Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa stated this today while addressing participants at an induction training organized for the newly appointed staff members of the Commission in Kwara state held in Ilorin the Kwara State capital to abreast them with the ethics rules of engagement and responsibilities to the host communities
Represented by the Director Community and Rural development HYPPADEC Dr. Mahmud Mohammed Umar said the commission is charged with the responsibility of managing the ecological menace due to operation of dams and other hydro-electric power activities in the power producing areas of Nigeria.
However, the state Coordinator of HYPPADEC Mrs. Hajara Ndaman Alhassan has Commended the Kwara state government for regular payment of counterpart funds for the development of the host communities.
She added that the purpose of the training was to abreast the staff on Financial management, administration and programmes of the government to boost service delivery and career progression in the public service.
He further added that Distribution of life jackets and purchase of two thousand Five hundred motorcycles to tackle insecurity in the HYPPADEC host communities.
