Kwara Gov mourns, attends burial rites of statesman I. O. Yusuf in Igbaja

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Saturday led a state delegation to Igbaja town to attend the burial rites (janazah) of an elder statesman Alhaji Idris Olayemi Yusuf.

Alhaji Yusuf, father of the incumbent chairman of the Kwara State House of Assembly Commission Hon. Femi Yusuf, was former chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. 

In a condolence message after the burial, the Governor said the death of Alhaji Yusuf was a great loss to the progressive folds and to the Igbaja community, where he was in a class of his own. 

“Our heartfelt condolences go to the Elese of Igbaja Oba Ahmed Awuni Babalola Arepo III, Hon. Femi Yusuf and his siblings, as well as the entire progressive fold in Igbaja and environs on this sad but inevitable transition. Our consolation is that Alhaji I. O. Yusuf was a great man who left great memories of being a good person,” according to a statement after the burial rites.

“We pray Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and comfort his family.”

On the Governor’s entourage to Igbaja were Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Communication Alhaji Bashir Adigun, and Alhaji Razaq Jiddah, among others.
