Again, Senator Sadiq Empowers Constituents on Vocational Skills.
The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Trade and Investment, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar on Tuesday facilitated the training and empowerment of not fewer than sixty (60) youths across Kwara North in selected vocational skills, after which grants were given to the participants.
The empowerment which took place on Tuesday, 7th November 2023 at the Savanah Hotel, Km2, along Ajase-Ipo road, Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, was done in collaboration with the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, National Veterinary Research Institute, VOM Plateau State.
The vocational training covers a wide range of skills targeted and designed to equip the youths to tackle unemployment and youth restiveness, thereby creating job opportunities for the teeming youth in the constituency.
Senator Sadiq, while addressing the participants, said: “It’s with great pleasure that I address everyone on this occasion, marking yet another empowerment program for some of my constituents, particularly the youths. This is one of many series of my empowerment programs this year, while I will work hard for more empowerment programs to come, I hope that what we’ve learned here today will be put to use and go a long way in creating employment opportunities for us”.
“The target is for gainful employment of youths and women in my senatorial district, irrespective of political affiliation. What matters is that the beneficiaries of these initiatives are my constituents and I’m happy to facilitate this as your representative in the National Assembly”. The Senator added.
It would be recalled that a similar training and empowerment program was facilitated by the lawmaker in September 2023 through National Agricultural Extension and Research Liason Services, Zaria, Kaduna State, in which over one hundred and twenty (120) youths and women across Kwara North benefitted in the area of Agriprenuership and Starter Pack.
This is among a series of his vocational training programs and empowerment aimed at elevating youths out of the poverty line.The Senator further encouraged the youths to be good ambassadors of Kwara North as he promised to use every legislative framework to attract more developmental and youth-oriented programs to the region.
